...is not entirely audible.  It can be something subliminal, sub-acoustic...a realisation, an idea, an intuition.

My name is Hamish Low. subacoustic is an umbrella for anything and everything freelance that I can offer, something of a showcase of the freelance projects I've worked on and the expertise I am developing.

There's a kind of Catch-22 in building a career.  Often opportunities are restricted to those who have the experience already. The penny dropped for me when I realised that if noone's making it easy, you do it yourself....

Narrative Design is a term from the games industry but I like to think of it as something wider. It's about designing experiences, text, video, script, product all in order to engage and reveal, to expand and extend our knowledge of the world and ourselves.

I am currently working on a novel.

I am currently working with a small team on a documentary project.

As the anthropologist Margaret Mead famously said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

This is our aim. To play our minor parts in the greater narrative. To use our communication and research skills, our aesthetic sensibilities, to further human rights, social justice and environmental sustainability.  News journalism often only skims the surface. Documentary is a form that can give context, coherance and clarity.  Hopefully you'll be hearing from us soon.
